You're reading this aren't you?
Contents
~~~~~~~~
1-What do I need?
2-What is it, a game?
3-How do I play it then?
4-Are there any controls?
5-But hey I want to install it to my Hard Drive?
6-Updates?
7-Need any help?
8-How do I contact you then?
1: A computer I think
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The only computer that this game has been tested on is my own.
Amiga 1200
Apollo 1230 (25 Mhz Cpu, 25 Mhz Fpu)
2 Meg chip
4 Meg Fast
4x SCSI-CDROM
Squirrel
Star LC-240 Printer
LOOK: You do not need these specs to play the game, any Amiga with at least
1 Meg SHOULD be okay.
With the DD version a hard drive or 3MB ram plus is required.
2: This is not a game.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a simulator, an advanced and highly intelligent simulator.
It simulates a farm.
Have you ever looked at a Sheep, and now I mean really looked, what you
see id the product of millions of years worth of evolution a rare and
unique animal, a perfect animal.
With this game you get the chance to take control of your own sheep, to
love it, to care for it, to guide it. You must BE the sheep.
3: It's easy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the start of the game you must enter all of your sheeps statistics:
Name: The name of you sheep (Max 8 characters)
Age: The age of your sheep (There is a restriction of 112 years)
Sex: Male or female (I think)
Speed: This has an effect on the game enter 0 and your sheep will not
move (5 Max)
Intelligence: Doesn't really effect the game.
Now you must choose a start level:
1: Easy (Easy?)
2: Medium (More difficult than easy)
3: Hard (Not as hard as MEGA)
4: MEGA (MEGA)
Entering a start level of 1 gives you water and food levels of 100
Entering a start level of 2 gives you water and food levels of 70
Entering a start level of 3 gives you water and food levels of 40
Entering a start level of 4 gives you water and food levels of 10
There you are, that wasn't too hard was it?
You are now standing in a field.
4: No the games plays by itself (!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course there are controls, have you gone mad? It's that stick thing.
Up-Go forward
Down-Go Back
Left-Rotate left
Right-Rotate the opposite way to left
Fire-Go baa!/Eat/Drink
P-Pause the game
Q-Quit
Left Amiga A-Moves the screen to the back, do it again and the screen
comes back to the front.
Ctrl C-Quit to Dos
5: Oh so you have a hard drive do you?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This couldn't be easier, I think.
1-Drag the directory from the CD and onto your Hard-Drive.
2-Now this is the bit that may be tricky. Load up a text editor, ED is
fine, go to the directory in which Sheepz is installed and load up the
file called, "Clickme_Quick"
3-Now you need to alter the assigns.
eg:
This game should either have been obtained from the AFCDROM
Or directly from me on DD floppy.
The assigns will probably read:
Echo Sheepz is being assigned
Cd0:c/Assign Sheepz: AFCD**:-Readerstuff-/Richard_Hodge/Sheepz/
Cd0:c/Assign Libs: Cd0:LIbs/
Endcli
You need to change those two lines to something like this:
Echo Sheepz is being assigned
Assign Sheepz: HD0:Games/Sheepz/
Assign Libs: HD0:Libs/
Endcli
Easy as pie, Now double click on the icon called "Sheepz"
6-What you want more?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as this version of Sheepz was finished I started to think about
what I could put in the sequel.
Here are the early ideas:
1-Larger Level
2-New animals
3-Improved sound
4-The ability to take over other animals instead of sheep
5-More vehicles and people
6-The ability to enter buildings
7-The ability to have control over upto 5 animals at any one time
8-More intelligent animals
9-The ability to load in whole new levels/animals
10-A Wildlife sim/Fish sim/People sim
That's about it at the moment but I'll probably think of some more.
Any future upgrades should hopefully, be on an AF CD.
7-That's very nice of you to offer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes please, I need you. There are many things that you could do to help
me, but here are some ideas:
Graphics:
~~~~~~~~~
As you may be able to tell from playing the game I am not exactly
an artist, blame my art teacher. You could send me level, or animal
graphics. These should be in the form of simple lowres 32 colour IFF
files.
Sound:
~~~~~~
So you're a musician are you? What I really need is a good Mod. As you
may also be able to notice from the Intro I'm not exactly the most
skilled musician around, you could send me your modules.
Animal noises etc, I do not have access to a sound sampler, so any
sounds used in the game are "Borrowed" Ahem. From other sources. Does
the "Baa" sound familiar. "Worms" Cough! Sorry. You could send me you
animal sounds, Please.
Ideas:
~~~~~~
I know that the kind of people who actually read text files are
intelligent, and good looking and rich, and often have a lot of ideas
knocking around inside there heads, if you have any send them to me
(About Sheepz please)
I think that's about it really, but what I really need is a gauge of how
many of you would actually like to see a sequel, send me a postcard a
letter, anything that tells me that you like playing Sheepz.
8-So you want to contact me?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are many mediums by which you may contact me, well about two
actually.
Address: Richard Hodge
1 Parsonage Green,
Begelly,
Kilgetty,
Pembs.
SA68 OYN
Wales
Phone: (01834) 813800 (Only after 16:00:23 Otherwise I'll be in school)
I'm afraid you can not E-Mail me as I'm am nothing but a poor, clean
living, simple country boy. And do not have a modem.
If you would like a copy of Sheepz on DD Floppy. Please send
2 Pounds Sterling, P+P inclusive.
I will reply to any letter sent to me by any Sheep user.
9-So you want to read some general info? Why don't you just play the game?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh I see you've already played the game, and you're reading the text
file afterwards. That's clever!
Sheepz, was programmed in Amos Pro, and compiled using the Amos Pro
Compiler.
The graphics were drawn in Dpaint, and grabbed using the AmosPro Object
Editor.
The Music was made using Octamed 2.
The AF Logo on the CD, This was grabbed from their index pages on the CD
using Personal Paint.
The whole idea and concept for Sheepz, was developed and instigated by
myself.
Sheepz, just like the real things, is not shareware or PD or freeware.
It belongs to me, if you want a copy then the only place where you can
get it is from me. Or of the AFCD (I don't know which one)
I know how much people hate reading long and boring text files, so I made
this one as short as possible. You can always print it out and read it on
the loo.
